English Teacher
I am a 2005 graduate of Maud High School. I knew from a small age I wanted to grow up and help people become better versions of themselves, so I set out to accomplish my dream of becoming a teacher. I graduated with honors from Texas A&M University-Texarkana in 2009 with a degree in English and a certification to do what I love—teach!
I’ve attended many professional development workshops and trainings. Among my favorites are the following: Google Classroom for any device (6 hours), Talk Read Talk Write (6 hours), Grammar Keepers with Gretchen Bernabei (6 horus), STAAR Writing with Gretchen Bernabei (6 hours), Fundamental 5 formula for quality instruction book study (9 hours), TELPAS rater training, TELPAS rater online basic training course for grades 2-12, TELPAS calibration certification, Suicide Awareness and prevention, classroom procedures, sheltered instruction, communicating for results, as well as numerous book studies.
This will be my 3rd year at Paris High, and it couldn’t get any better! The staff, admin, and students here are certainly the very best. I absolutely love teaching English 1.
I started my teaching career in 2010. Ironically, Mr. Vaughn gave me my first teaching job at Clarksville ISD. I was there from 2010-2012 teaching everything from English 2-English 4 regular and honors.
My family means the world to me. My husband, Daniel, was in the Coast Guard for 13 years. We had a blast traveling around the world seeing God’s artwork in the scenery. We have two beautiful daughter’s who are excited for their 3rd year in Paris! Jordan is my oldest and will attend 9th grade at Paris High. She enjoys softball, cheer, basketball, volleyball, and music (pretty much anything in her room like all teens). Brinley is the baby and will attend Kindergarten Aiken Elementary. She loves music, swimming, dancing, and anything that her sister is doing. We are huge fans of all sports, but we especially love our Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboy football games. I have the cutest little rescue chiuahuahs, Edward and Princess Batchelor. We also have a cat named Freddy that would remind you of Garfield. The girls recently got a hamster named Peanut. I guess it’s safe to say we love animals!
