English II emphasizes the state-mandated TEKS while increasing and refining communication skills. Multiple genres of world literature and forms of writing are stressed. Students interpret literature, analyze visual representations, develop vocabulary skills, perform memory work, utilize research techniques, and concentrate on CSCOPE English Language Arts objectives, which emphasize voice in writing and applications of the conventions of written English. English II utilizes the broad theme of conflict. End of Course (EOC) testing has arrived and challenging for the sophomore class and will be emphasized as well throughout this school year in preparation for the 2013-2014 year.
