Future Problem Solving

The Future Problem Solving program stimulates critical and creative thinking skills, encourages students to develop a vision for the future, and prepares students for leadership roles. The program engages students in creative problem solving within the curriculum and provides competitive opportunities.

Paris High FPS is a powerhouse in the state of Texas, producing state champions in team and individual problem solving and scenario writing as well as numerous finalists in all categories.  The school has won back-to-back state championships in the senior division team solve, and this past summer produced a world champion in individual problem solve.

Competition at the high school level is provided in two divisions: Intermediate (grades 7-9) and senior (grades 10-12).  Sandra Strom serves as the senior division sponsor, while Jill Stone sponsors the freshmen entries.  They are assisted by Dr. Janet Dickey.
