PISD's Notification System

Paris ISD uses School Messenger to provide timely communications. If you have a child attending PISD, you are automatically in the database and will receive phone notifications. High school students face many daily challenges both inside and outside the classroom.  The faculty and staff of Paris High provide many services to help students navigate those challenges.  In particular, the Counseling Department offers an array of academic and personal counseling assistance to help students make informed decisions about college and careers.

Applications for most of the scholarship listings on this page can be picked up in the PHS Counseling Department; however, for some listings, students may be required to apply online.  Look for specific scholarships with the nearest application deadlines to be listed first in order.

Horatio Alger Association
Eligibility Criteria:
* Enrolled as a full time high school student with plans to enter college no later than the Fall semester after graduation.
*Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelors degree at an accredited institution in the US.
*Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
*Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
*Display integrity and perseverence in overcoming adversity
*Hold a minimum grade point average of 2.0
*Be a United States citizen.

Eligibility:
* Students participating in FFA or 4H programs with appropriate qualifications, however, those students pursuing a career in Agriculture would have preference
*Rating system:  Grades 50%, Financial Need 25% and Community Service 25%
*GPA of 3.5 to continue this scholarship for 2nd semester

The winners will be announced at the 53rd Annual All Breed Bull Sale held on November 27th at Cattlemen’s Livestock Commission barn in Paris.

Students new to Paris ISD may register for the 2017-18 school year beginning Monday, Aug. 7).    Students will need to bring the following:

  1. Parent or legal guardian
  2. Proof of residency
  3. Social Security card
  4. Birth Certificate
  5. Shot record
  6. Withdrawal paper
  7. Last report card or transcript (if previously in high school)
