Current Position:

I started teaching at Paris High School in 2017, first as a Paraprofessional in Content Mastery and then obtaining my teaching license in Special Education in 2021.  Prior to becoming full time faculty at the school, I worked as a Subsititute Teacher in the district for a year. For the past 2 ½ years, I was working as an Content Mastery teacher, and or Inclusion Teacher for several core content classes at Paris High School.  Paris High School is the only school I have worked with as a licensed professional. For the current 2024-2025 school year, I am teaching Geometry full time.

Previous Position:

Prior to working at Paris High School, I worked as a Substitute Teacher for a few districts, including Paris ISD.  However when I decided to pursue teaching full time, Paris ISD was the only district I wanted to work for. Teaching is not my first profession however.  Prior to teaching, I worked in real estate, primarily affordable housing.  I believe this brings a unique perspective to my teaching philosophy as I have worked with disadvantaged youth, special needs persons, and people of many different lifestyles and socioeconomic status.  I believe this helps me relate and teach in a way that reaches all students regardless of status, to meet them where they are, and help them succeed and achieve, because it is not how you start in life, it is how you finish.

Family Information:

I have been married to my beautiful, wonderful wife for the past 26 years, getting married in 1998.  We have one son, who is now married with two kids.  We live with four pets, two dogs, and two cats, Saber, Pi, Felix, and Lily.  Lily is our calico cat, who happens to be a rescue animal and is our newest addition to the family.  Felix is our other cat, orange and white, who likes to think he is sometimes part dog.  Saber is our Goldadoor, part Black Labradoor, part Golden Retriever, all energy and Pi is the eldest animal, a miniture American Eskimo.

Personal Information:

When I am not teaching, I like playing video games, watching TV, sports, and reading.
