My name is Brent Wilburn, and this 2024-2025 school year marks my 11th as a teacher and my sixth at Paris High School. My first five years were spent as a seventh-grade English teacher at Paris Junior High, which included a Teacher of the Year award for the 2017-18 school year. This year, I am once again teaching AP English Language & Composition and AP English Literature & Composition.

I am originally from Mississippi, but I moved to Paris in 2008 and spent six years as a sports reporter and sports editor at The Paris News. In the fall of 2013, I decided to make a career change and enrolled in the alternative certification program at Texas A&M University-Commerce. I'm excited about teaching my students, and I hope my "real world" experience continues to assist me as I teach.
