With it quickly approaching, some important decisions need to be made about one’s high school career before it ever gets started. If there are any questions, please email the appropriate high school counselor.

Incoming freshmen and parents/guardians ~

Here are some important pieces of information to help make the choices for Freshmen year at PHS.

9th Grade Choice Sheet – These are the only courses that an incoming 9th grader can choose from. There are 7 periods but the student will only be able to choose the PE equivalent, fine art and elective for the chosen Endorsement plan.

PHS Endorsement Plan – Every student at PHS is required to choose an endorsement plan to focus on throughout their high school career. The endorsements are

  • STEM
  • Business & Industry
  • Public Service
  • Arts & Humanities
  • Mutidisciplinary Studies

Each student will have one of these on file. This is an example of a Business & Industry Endorsement Plan.

CTE Programs of Study at a Glance – This informs the student of what courses are taught in the CTE Endorsements.

Other Programs of Study – This informs the student of the other Endorsement plans that are not CTE.

Class Rank / Grade Point System – This form informs the student how some classes earn more grade pionts (weighted differently) than others based on the level of difficulty and how each grade per nine week period is calculated by grade points.
