Paris High provides academic progress reports at regular checkpoints during the year. These reports are normally distributed to students to take home. Parents may monitor the PHS website for notices of these distributions. For more frequent and convenient access to grades, parents are encouraged to use txConnect , a parental web portal that gives "read-only" Web access to each child's grades and attendance directly from the teacher's gradebook.
Since the 2014-15 school year, Paris High has operated on nine week grading periods. To comply with no-pass, no-play regulations, the school has established a series of "UIL Checkpoints" of dates where a student may lose or regain eligibility to participate in extracurricular activities. Please refer to the school calendar of events found on this website for a complete listing of those dates or download our Academic Calendar. Grade reports will be distributed to students the week following each UIL Checkpoint.
Paris High has a standard system in place for determining averages for each grading period.
Each nine weeks average consists of:
Each semester average consists of:
Teachers have been asked to maintain accurate and current electronic gradebooks to help parents track their child's progress at any time. txConnect has some very interesting features that can help parents stay on top of their child's grades, attendance, and school activities. A parent can access their child's information from home, work, or any place they have an Internet connection. Absences will update five times daily and grades/assignments will automatically update each night.
